Falling V1 by dreamingSarah Falling V1 by dreamingSarah
Speed painting. Took about 20 min.

Just an idea I was toying around with. Sarah revisiting the ballroom scene surrounded by the twirling phantom figures of the dancers and encountering the shadow of the Goblin King. The ghosts of the past stay with us....
I wanted to depict Sarah's sense of regret as she stands isolated in a room full of whispers and memory.

I plan to go back and fully flesh this out sometime. I think it could make a cool finished painting. But in the meantime I figured I would post it as is to get some feedback. Oh yeah and pay no attention to the fact that she has no arms. I will include those later. I'm planning on changing her pose a little.

I am noticing something special in your work...your persons in pictures glow...

the dark BG´s are sort of trying to hide them, or steal the power of the emotion which flows from their insides, but you manage to skillfuly bring them out even more...

somehow like you perseude the darkness to support to push them out towards the watcher...

If you allow, I would suggest to add the little gevelry on her hair, so the mass of the hair isnt to heavy according to balance of the picture. It would lighten up a bit..but, when I think about it...maybe it is that what it makes it so special...

maybe she lost the "jewelry" and her head is "heavy"...

I am looking forward to finished piece.

Thank you very much. I appreciate the suggestions. This one still has a long way to go before it's done, but the whole reason I posted it is to get some feedback just like yours and I just want to thank you for the time you take to really respond to my work!

I was working on a cruise ship for mot of last year as wardrobe supervisor. When I got back in November I did a couple of little jobs for the same people I worked for last christmas. Now I'm taking some time off before hitting the high seas again at the end of feb.

You?

Wow, you've been busy! I've been working as a freelance illustrator so I've been working my patootie off. I've also been traveling a great deal which makes it hard to stay at the computer. Plus I tend to disappear off the radar at random times lol. All my friends have accepted that I'm a recluse and go for months without talking to them.

It's exciting though. I think change (especially of scenery) is always a good thing. I try to move around as much as possible.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. Arms aren't so important anyway! I'm glad you liked it though. Have you purchased a tablet yet?

I think it's really well done and good idea. She looks a little more startled then feeling regret. Great job though, I hope to see the full one.

Yes, I agree. There's quite a bit I need to change in this one. I like the concept, it just needs a lot of work. It'll be a while before it's done, but eventually...
